So whos with what insurance company, how much is your VR4 insured for and whats your vehicle value? Did you get a professional valuation?

I want to know so if anything bad happens to my car again (god I hope not) that I don't get screwed over form some assessor saying that my car is worth f*ck all.

I'm AA Insurance with the car being agreed value of $5000(Meant to be $6000) with $1500 for accessories limit on full cover.. Haven't had professional valuation done on mine, They said agreed value was this and I said want agreed value at that.

Since mine off the road for a while, Have taken my cover down to third party, fire and theft, Once it running again it all be full cover with agreed value being alot more.

Mine is with AMI(agreed value) and I just go to a local respected car yard and get a market valuation done and take that to them if the value is too low.

They then update it and that goes on file.

I currently have the car on storage insurance, so its covered if there if its stolen out of the garage, fire, if its on a trailer/truck getting work done. Pay $8 a month for 8k coverage.

When i get the car back on the road, ill get a proper valuation done with photos etc to get it insured for the right value, think its about $100 to get this done.

Hmmm well considering the amount Im forking out to get the car back on the road I'll probably make a list of all the modifications, state the fact that the car is a Super VR4 and I'll get a proper valuation done on it.

Does Club Auto do agreed value?

I am 19 and with them, mine is insured for 5.5k market value. @1.1k premiums a year. Can't wait till I'm 21 and go back to State to get around 500 per year.

I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that they only do agreed value, maybe I'm wrong or its changed since you signed up? I think I tried with state but they said no because of my age and it being a turbo car.

State immediately cancelled my insurance because the modifications were worth more than 20% of the car. It was a while ago, I don't know if they have had a change of policy since then.

Woops I was wrong. Just looked at my emails from them and it is in fact market value. Now I don't know who to use for my new Legnum I'm getting.

Both mine are with Tower but only third party, fire and theft as the premiums were going to be astronomical for any better than that as they describe Legnum VR-4's as 'high theft cars' despite a recent article in our local paper listing the most stolen cars and there wasn't a Mitsubishi in the list. And they'll only pay what they consider market value, which is rather hard to assess when the car's smashed up so is probably near zilch anyway.
Those folks with State, has it changed recently? I have always thought of State insurance as the insurance you have when in reality you have none as they will always find a way out of accepting any claim.

How old are you? I do recommend State.

I've had a fairly good experience with them. Car was recently stolen and too smashed up for repair. I told them all the modifications except forgot tinted windows. They paid out within a week and gave a refund of my premium after a month.

Really? Try again online. They'll do me only once i turn 21 full cover for 626 at 6.5k value. I'm with club auto right now as im 19. They've already paid out one of my write offs previously.

I just did the online quote with state and damn thats cheap, full comprehensive with a couple of added things and to have the car insured for 8k it came out to $600 and something for a year.

Hmmm

State's prices have dropped a fair bit. I'm paying about $700 a year with all declared mods, but have to wait for renewal time because I had the wife on there (under 25).

Sadly enough if she crashed a car it would have been cheaper to crash the VR4 than my work car (commercial insurance) as the excess on that was over $1000.

I'm with AMI. Have 3 cars house and contents with them. $45 a month for the corvette, $40 for the airtrek (which is turbo) and $30 odd for the 626
