VR4 climate control unit with blue LED backlight. Has LED bulbs fitted under buttons and standard glass bulbs with silicone blue cover under screen.
It's fully working condition, some wear on buttons as expected from used unit.
Nice blue backlight effect especially when dark.

One of the better looking conversions, very even and sharp looking light.

If only it was in red lol. Just have to convert my spare one instead

I agree, this one looks really nice.
This one has not been converted by me and it comes from Legnum I bought a month ago, but I converted two of them (white LED) before with really nice result as well.
I'll convert next one to the red backlight.
Cheers,
Mac

Not a problem, also one thing I should mention about LED bulbs, namely LED bulbs will not work properly under the screen, I mean they don't fully light the screen up, I've fitted them once under the screen and only I could see were 2 big dots on the screen because LED bulbs do not scatter the light, they just focus it in one point.
So the solution is small red or blue silicone bulb cover depends which colour you want for bulbs under the screen.
I'm going to buy some bulbs and silicone bulb covers.
I'll convert one of the unit to red and will let you know what's the effect.
Cheers,
Mac

Cheers Mac that would be great. Yeah I do like LED's but for automotive applications as you say they do not scatter the light effectively enough. The unit I have that was converted was no different either, just 2 bright spots on the screen.

I have replaced them with normal bulbs and it is now better, I was simply thinking of applying some red tint film to the screen and the clear plastic bits behind the buttons to see if this makes any difference or looks any good. I too shall let you and the other guys know my progress either in a new thread or in Adams @what I did to My Car Today' thread.

From a post on "How to" on here, someone filed the tip of the LEDs down to a flat point, will this make a difference?

I am assuming not massively as the ones in mine were filed down to a flat tip and you could see the spots pretty clearly

I use SMD led bulbs which are flat and can not be filed. They are different to the old type round ones LED bulbs.
Any way I've oredered red LED bulbs and red caps.
I'll convert another unit and upload some pics when it's done.
Cheers,
Mac

That's how Rolls Royce used to get the blue light look in the 70's by using little blue Jonnies as we called them over white bulbs.

These work either in Galant n/a, VR4 or Evo 4-6. The only difference is illumination of heated screens switches. So, c'mmon chaps, grab a bargain!
