Goku

So I have a few parts available from a pre loved 1997 Legnum VR-4... The engine and gearbox have been spoken for...

I will have some parts from the engine for sale at a later date as I won't need a lot of the 8G ignition system etc...

Bender

Is the engine loom being sold with the engine or will you sell it by itself?

If so what kind of condition is it in?

Goku
20-12-2014, 07:57 AM
I'm keeping the engine, so I don't need the loom.

It's in good condition

Goku
20-12-2014, 08:01 AM
Also the gearbox is now available

Bender
20-12-2014, 08:10 AM
Is the loom for an manual or auto?

And how much are you wanting for it?

Goku
20-12-2014, 09:28 AM
Manual

$150 plus freight

Bender
21-12-2014, 05:26 AM
Are you able to get few photos of the loom?

Goku
21-12-2014, 07:53 PM
I'll see what I can do

mattnz
21-12-2014, 10:06 PM
That looks very well 'loved' :p

Don't suppose you'll part with the engine cover?

Goku
22-12-2014, 05:40 AM
I will, I don't need it.
My one doesn't use them.

It does have a few cracks in it though

Bender

No rush on the photos of the loom, Just when ever you can :)

What was the gearbox like? (shift well etc)
How much for it + clutch & flywheel (assuming they were OK as well)

I'm looking around the $6-700 mark for it, plus shipping. It drove really well, shifted mint, my brother had it from 50,000 kms and we have replaced the clutch twice I think, it's now done 130,000. I used it for a couple of years while he was living in the UK.

I'll be looking to dismantle some of the car this weekend and get some of the parts out, I'll post up pics of the box + clutch etc once I have them removed.

CANDEE
23-12-2014, 08:06 AM
Shift cables and the bracket that holds them on the box?

Goku
23-12-2014, 08:36 AM
To be honest I haven't had a look at them yet, I may use them on mine.
But I will let you know.

CANDEE

No Biggie if you do. I have other sources. :)

Let me know when you have it out. If you could get a shipping value too, that would be great.

Goku

Uhhhh.... the airbag has deployed in it

Uhhhh.... the airbag has deployed in it

I see that :P

iirc it's not too hard to switch over an airbag?

I'm more concerned about the state of the leather?

Goku

I'll try to get a decent pic of it so you can see it

Do you have an AYC pump available?

Tony_T
02-01-2015, 10:33 PM
Did yours have TCL? If so do you still have the vacuum canister and the two solenoid valves on the firewall?
Do you have the load cover (Holland blind-like thing) for the back - might be a bit costly to ship though? But just remembered I know someone who drives up and down so might be able to collect for me if he still does.

No TCL, It did have a cargo blind, but I think my brother has it in his garage... I'll have to ask him about it.

Few more bits I removed today after being sick for the past week...

The steering wheel pics are to show how worn it is.

All the door cards are in this kind of condition, eg mint.

Thanks Kayne.
It seems the guy who used to travel now has a new job so doesn't anymore but I'd still be interested in that blind if the freight wasn't too bad on it: wouldn't have to be by anything fast so the cheapest method would be fine if it turns out that you still do have it.
Someone else replied to me about the TCL parts, I got a notification of the reply but can't seem to find the actual post anywhere to read so if they could post it again here or send me a message it would be good, thanks.
I've just discovered that my '97 car is missing some more bits too but from the damage on yours I think they'll be destroyed so I'll have to go back to pickapart and see if the legnum VR-4 they've got there has the bits I want undamaged. I noticed that the TCL bits were there but someone had broken them deliberately to make getting other bits off easier ... damn!

Hi there, obtained a pump off trademe. Thanks anyway.

Kayne, sorry to be a nuisance: I got a load blind locally today. $50 just needed cleaning and some of the felt pads glued down at the edges, would have cost quite a bit of that for freight alone so thanks anyway.

Johny

is the driver side monsoon shield intact?

I've got some TCL bits as well if you get stuck. Not sure if they work, but the cylinder isn't broken in any obvious way.

Matt, really just need the solenoid valve with the single nipple and the blanking cap. Was going to hold the canister and the other solenoid for spares just in case of later needs so not essential. Don't want to hijack Kayne's thread though.

For the people interested in the Gearbox, gear linkages and engine parts, I have been working on getting my engine back in the Galant, so haven't had time to pull these ones out, should be sorted in a couple of weeks.

I think the metal ones can withstand a higher level of boost pressure = less leakage.

Goku
24-02-2015, 01:31 AM
Yes it is on Trade Me

As said above, they are less likely to have boost leak issues and I believe have a stronger spring in them.
Overall they are a much better improvement over the stock plastic ones.

Oh Ok. What kind of noise does it make and is it adjustable or is it full recirc? Sorry not too familiar with the evo 9 bovs
