Has anyone remove the door molding before?

If so anyone have photos to show what it look like?

Do you mean the door cards on the inside?

Think he means the door protectory bits on the outside of the door.

Circled in his pic ;)

Hehe, must admit I only clicked the pic as I was intrigued as to why a random pic was posted but seems not so random after all.

I have not seen anyone remove these before apart from maybe skydiver but would definitely like to know if they have and how it looks. Subscribed

From the photos just seen of skydiver Galant, He still has the door moldings/protectory bits or whatever you call them

I don't like them, Think they are ugly, The car could be getting repainted and thought it be good time to remove them

I don't like them too but I think there is crease in door panels for them, how you thinking of 'smooth' them?

Never gave these a second thought, but now that it's mentioned... They never ever served me to actually protect the door so from that perspective they would not be missed. The question indeed is: what to odo with the recess/fold that appears when they are removed. Smooth them with bondo or a more proper filling up with a this layer of steel and then smooth it all out. Interesting!

By the way: The US of A Galants have an option were these thin door protector strips are replaced by a full body trim door panel which covers the lower half of the doors. Might be an interesting choice? I think they were standard on the US 'GTZ' models, but could be wrong.

Edit, found a picture:

These three seem to have the protectory things removed and the doors smoothed in different ways. One keeping the original curves another with widened arches and the other with completely flat/straightened doors:

This one seems photoshopped but they have been molded into the door so they are no longer separate:
