Anybody? Wanna rebuild mine but the kits are for evos so need to get the right one. Other option is to take it all apart and sand blast the plate and any other bits that i can then find seals that are the same and replace them.

have a look at the evo ayc rebuild videos on youtube.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZrYjQat4KGE

i believe the rebuild kits are the same for both types of pump.

i believe the pump differences are:-

evo AYC only (VR4 pump)
2 solenoid valves on the pump.

Evo AYC with ACD
3 solenoids on the pump (extra solenoid is for the Active Centre Diff clutch packs).

on a side note, i am not sure what pressure switch is fitted on the evo pumps N/O or N/C both are used on VR4 pumps PFL different to FL (black and green caps on pressure switch). but the pressure switches are swappable from one pump to another.

Talk to Dylan @ Maikoworks in AUS. He supplies rebuild kits.

here is a rebuild kit for the 4-9 pump on ebay

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Evo-4-9-AYC-ACD-Pump-Repair-Service-Kit-Mitsubishi-Evo-4-5-6-7-8-9-/321676908646?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item4ae5701866

this kit has 3 solenoid seals in it so you get an extra one that you don't need it looks like the right kit for the VR4 pump.

No pump not rebuilt yet. My plan is to get a rebuild kit with s/s plate. Then get 2 replacement solenoids and any bits that needs cleaning up i can sandblast at work.
As long as it comes apart easily it shouldnt be a problem as its all work just not in hot weather as im guessing from what i have seen the corrosion creates a gap dropping the pressure.
I would get someone elts to do it but from what i have seen as long as the motor is ok its fairly strait job and the cost of most rebuilds ive been quoted is diffrence between getting my 4 pots fitted and not as i need hubs.
The kit will be ordered end of the week so will see by then just wanted to know what was the difference between evo pump if the rebuild kits fit or were diffrent for vr4. Ill just order a evo 4-6 one that way less chance of it being wrong.

getting the pump apart is the tricky bit.

solenoids go for about £100 each on ebay. if the ayc works the solenoids work, solenoids can be changed at any time after the pump has been rebuilt. so don't waste your money getting replacement solenoids if you don't need them.

also your pump might have been rebuilt before, i have seen a few that have, the tell tall signs are exposed screw threads that hold the body of the pump together where the casing of the pump had to be cut away to get the pump apart, cut and corroded rim where the pump splits apart, rim removed to get a pry bar in to split the pump body. if the pump has been rebuilt before and it has failed again, there might be something more wrong with the pump that a rebuild kit might not fix. look at the video i posted yuo and you will see the cut/witness areas i am talking about.

if the last person to rebuild the pump did not not do it very well and made marks on the pump to plate surfaces or sanded surfaces unevenly then it might not be fixable.

this is just a word of warning if you are doing it yourself. don't go mad with the chisel or a screw driver and gouge things to bits trying to remove corroded material. take it easy and gentle, take more time to do it and get a getter result.

it dosnt look rebuild before there are no marks on the bodys and the bolts are not exposed.

yes it works just not at temp over 7-10 deg use to be about 14-15 but has slowly got worse, so decided to get it rebuilt as wanna go for a drive in may with new brakes tyres wheels working ayc and front lsd as clutch should all be bed in by then and road a bit better for running at full boost again as im stuck on .4 bar at mo :'(
