Rear Diff

I collected a New (to me) VR4 this weekend and all seemed fine but today I noticed that I get a clunk from the rear of the car when engaging the clutch in 1st gear and on one slow pullaway there was a juddering and clunking, again seemed to come from the rear so I'm guessing the diff is on it's way out. Does this seem likely?

Anyone have one available? I'm in Surrey if that makes any difference but happy to pay shipping of course.

Is there any checks / servicing that could be done to the current one? I had a bit of a search but failed miserably.
