Can anyone recommend an electric Impact driver? cordless would be nice but not if its going to cost way more
I want it to be able to undo say.......crank pulley bolt or driveshaft bolt something tight like that

This is something I have been considering for a while now, but not found anything that the was cheap enough and good enough to meet my needs.
I will keep an eye on this thread with interest.

If you want cordless and plenty of torque the only one I found any good was the snap on one

I haven't used any corded ones, only pneumatic and cordless. De Walt was ok just bloody loud!

+1 for the Clarke CEW1000

I have one of these and it's brilliant. It has 450Nm torque which is much more than most for half the price. They do also do a cordless version with the same output buts its about £100GBP more.

Used it today for the first time really good wheel nuts and crank bolt off in less than a second! Magic will see how it goes on my sons civic crank bolt they are notoriously difficult

Ok so looking at the Clarke CEW1000 aswell and wondering if people reckon it will be up to the job of getting off the damn downpipes?

I bought the CEW1000 a couple of years ago, and the torque from it is impressive, the first time I used it I thought it was going to take my wrists with it!

I've used it for stubborn driveshaft nuts mainly. It should make light work of the downpipe nuts

Update on this it has removed every bolt I have tried on it with one exception it will not even look at my sons Honda Civic crank bolt

I have borrowed one of these from a fried and they are really good. Every bolt I needed to undo this impact wrench removed it.
I will have to get one of my own.

Just bought a Clarke CEW1000 from MachineMart today.

I bought the third one today, with another expected after a phone conversation. Maybe more people read this forum than we think.

I'll let you know how I get on - I have a lot of seized/rusted stuff to get off.

Even the best struggle with Honda crank bolts! My Chicago pneumatic is the only one I have used that was able to

Snap on isn't as good as what it used to be.

I've found the new Milwaukee cordless Impact to be pretty bloody good it has 950Nm of torque lol

It's the dog's doodahs. The case is cheap plastic but the driver is amazeballs.

It fits inside the front arch when the steering on full lock & undid the front caliper bolts with ease. The previous attempts involving a blow torch, mallet, WD40, curses, 3' breaker bar didn't shift them - just resulted in a rounded head.
