Just out of interest...how much would a garage charge to replace a fuel filler neck?

Labour? Half an hour. The neck itself isn't cheap at around 100GBP. And maybe the rubber hoses and/or clamps need replacing too (from personal experience, I've done this twice on 2 Galants).

If you go for a non-original replacement, be careful that changing the pipe size, angle and type of bend might result in creating a bottleneck in the pipe so when you put fuel in, it doesnt hit the tank quick enough.

I've got that issue with my car as I've changed to an alloy tank and custom filler pipe. The petrol going down the tank is bottlenecked at the bend at the bottom of the pipe and slows down. I have to hold the fuel nozzle at around 60% for it to go down smoothly. So annoying.

Part number is MR134520 cost £107 +vat from the dealer.

I would say yes dealer is probably best although you may want to paint the rest of it before you fit it as mitsy only paint a little bit of it to protect from elements.

Pain in the arse to remove if its in bad shape but still only took me about 1hr on a gravelly drive so garage fee should about 30 mins
