At some point in time I must have accidentally swapped in V6 N/A MAF in my VR2. It drove without issues but... when I found out I had the wrong MAF, I was curious to see what the difference would be. If any at all. So today I received a clean VR4 MAF, and besides the obvious difference in the air stream honeycomb flow mesh (V6 N/A) vs the square mesh (VR4) it all looks pretty much the same.
So I swapped the VR4 in, did a proper test drive (even quickly hit the 200km/h mark) and drove it around for some time in various speeds and varying in driving style from lazy, normal to sporty and I could not suppress the feeling that it all felt smoother, quicker, less jerky when suddenly letting go of the loud pedal.
Could very well be in my head, but... that counts as a win too, one less thing to 'worry' about :)
The correct MAF for this engine, so all is well.
Would be interesting to learn if anyone could relate to this, has the same experience or could think of reasons why this would be either non-sense or has ground for proof :)
