Unfortunately, that's just not true. I was offered £1700 trade in for my 98 GLS, having paid £4400 for it 18 months and 25000 miles earlier. Even private it wouldn't fetch more than £2500 now.

They won't get that for that GLS. In fact, there's a V6-24 on autoexposure that is up for £5500. It's been up for that price since about march 2003, because it was there before I bought mine.

dealers and prices :furious3: :toilet: :thumbsdow

at trade in time - its a sh1te price - slow sellers, no one wants them, its the mileage etc etc etc

when you buy it - cant get them for love nor money, people are hanging onto them

either way - they win & we lose

rant over :(

when I tried to part ex my 406, I deliberatley, but stealthily :evil2: ushered the dealer towards an identical 406, except this one had twice the mileage of mine. [ same spec, colour etc ]

It's was marked up at £8,495. & he offered me £3250 for mine !!! WTF ! :rolleyes4 when I turned him round to see an identical car, he didn't know where to hide his face. :embarasse :embarasse

When I was selling my first VR4 (Less than three years old, FMSH, 30k, UK car so a couple of months of warranty left) I went to a Ralliart Main Dealer (All Electric, Weoley Castle, Brum) to ask them what they could do as a down trade or outright purchase on it.

They needed to be convinced that it was not a V6-24, then offered me £4500 in P/Ex!

£30,000 to £4,500 in less than three years! I still think I should have reported them to Mitsubishi Headqurters.

i bought my GLS for £5k (about £1k less than the value at the time)the salesman say's "you got a good saving there mate, you'll hardly loose much on the price if you sell in 2 year?"..then the goverment leant on car dealer to push down new car price's....O well some yae win :embarasse

(it's worth double of what i payed now....to me :rolleyes4 )

Edit/
i am tempted :leer: to see what it's worth against a £7k Legnum for sale near me?
