hi guys /gals , just joined up for a couple of reasons really , firstly i have o legnum vr4 (ec5w) 1996 , have owned for the last 11 years and loved ever min of it , i still use her everyday
and never fails to bring a smile to my face , but i need help !!!
a problem has arose that i cant track down , she starts and runs perfect but after 15mins or so the tcs off light comes up and then an eng mng light , she still runs perfect and the tcs works fine
any ideas ......... please

Pull the fault codes, that should give you some pointers. But I have a sneaky feeling that the grey canister in the engine bay on the firewall could be your culprit...

Welcome to the club matey, pulling the codes is a great start but I did have this in both my Legnums and it was the grey cannister on the bulkhead. Part number is: MD163790 - Vacuum Tank, Emission Control costs £34.68 including VAT from Mitsy and is special order 10-14 days. This was however around 18 months to 2yrs ago so price may have changed. Like Nev says always best to double check the codes first.

If it is the vacuum tank it isn't very expensive from Mitsi, I just had mine replaced last month and the part was like £35.

Otherwise check your vacuum lines to make sure they aren't cracked and leaking air :)

As above, remove check and reseat all the vacuum pipes by the throttle body and onto the canister. Also electrically disconnect and reconnect the solenoids that the vacuum pipes go to.
