I have had my Legnum for some years but it has been in store for about 5 years.
Before storing it I had problems with a locking front brake caused by some ABS malfunction which we are now attempting to fix and may have the measure of - time will tell.
However I previously found that switching off the Traction Control to some extent alleviated the problem. It now seems permanently switched off which here in N Ireland is an MOT failure.
I cannot for the life of me remember how I managed to switch it off and now cannot find any way of switching it back on again.
Any ideas?

Traction control defaults to on every time you start the car. If it is staying off then you have an issue with a system that is linked to the traction control system. This could be all sorts of issues but if it isn't linked to the abs problem then it is most likely to be a vacuum control issue located with the small vacuum pipes between the throttle body and the bulkhead or the associated solenoids etc.

Any suggestions for a '97 with TCL light constantly illuminated ?
No error codes, no sign of any vacuum leaks, solenoids already changed and still the same.

Options are;
Change the switch (which has never switched TCL off)
Change the vacuum reservoir, which seems intact but has an audible hiss of vacuum passing through it
Pull the bulb out.

Thoughts, anyone ?

Tcl off = tcl light illuminated on dash
Tcl on = tcl light off.

How did you check the error codes?

TCL light is constantly illuminated
Checked the codes by bridging 1 and 4 on the connector as described on here, no codes on anything, also disconnected the battery to reset the ECU and it came right back.

I'm leaning towards a faulty switch, but having spent hard earned on two solenoids, hoping to cut out the error in trial and error.
Got an appointment with the authorities to try to get it approved in Norway in 3 weeks so I either need to have it working or take the bulb out before then

Unplug the switch and see does the light go out

What does.the light do.when pins 1and 4 are shorted? Constantly on would indicate to me that there is a wiring fault or the ecu has a problem. Or.your car has been converted to manual.

The light flashes steadily when 1 and 4 is shorted, otherwise it's on all the time, definitely not manual.
