Hi Folks,

I am a new member but long standing VR4 Owner. My VR4 was bought by me in February 2003 and was a Nov 2002 registered car. When I got it it had just 800 miles on the clock and the previous owner had sold it back to a Mitsubishi dealer when he got clobbered for DR30! His loss was my gain.

Due to work and then illness the car has been stored since 2006 but I plan to get it back on the road this summer. If you have any ideas about what I should do apart from a full service, new tyres, battery and a aircon re-gas before getting it MOTed and back on the road I would appreciate the advice.

Cheers Jim

18000 miles to date. I only used to drive it in the summer before I took it off the road.

Inside in a dry garage that has frost prevention heating. So I hope that I have kept the deadly rust at bay. I have stored other cars in this garage for extended times before and they were OK so I hope this car will be too.

Wow. One of the longest owned and lowest mileage cars in the club.
Where are you located? Some of us nerds would love to have a look whilst eating a doughnut or drinking a beer!

:iagree:

So far, about 50k miles was the lowest one which I have a pleasure to work on and it was stunning to drive, tightest one. Your must be a real gem for few of us to have a nosy around.

Thanks Guys for all your comments /Wave

OK so the Plan is...........

Finish the new Conservatory
Get the New Patio Laid and Then.....
Roll the beast out of the garage, give it a good Jetwash, check the levels, stick and new battery on it then fire it up.
If it fires up then I plan to give it a check over and then take it to get an MOT
If it does not fire up then I may be asking for a bit of advice :mask:
If it does though as I expect as it started OK about Three Years ago then after the MOT/Tax etc then tyres
What is the current flavour of the moment for 205/55 ZR16 93W or equivalent rubber?
I sort of favour the Uniroyal RainSport 3 94Y XL because My Wife drives an old performance car the Citroen Saxo 1.6 16Valve VTS which we bought new in 2003 and the Citroen PetrolHeads or some of them raved about the grip of these tyres and after having then fitted I agree.
I would go for the XL as the AWD is tough on tyres and the extra load/stiffness gives a better grip on performance cars, allegedly:d

So that is the current state of the Master Plan to get The Beast back doing what it does best.

Cheers Jim
