Ive fitted a 600x260 x 78 bar and plate intercooler.
When i start the car there is an initial dip in the revs which recovers straight away and the check engine light comes on.
Idle revs are ever so slightly up and down at idle.
Anyone got any clues?

Simply fitting the intercooler will not cause an issue.

However - the pipes and cables that might have been disturbed or disconnected whilst fitting it...

This sounds like it might be that the MAF has been unplugged - that would be the first thing to check. There is a 6 way plug that connects to the MAF, check that this is fully secured.

Did you disconnect the battery when fitting the intercooler.
I know some people disconnect the battery when doing any little job on the car.

Also check for leaks in the pipework. Even a small leak will cause issues

Problem fixed. It was a tiny pipe leak.

Perfect :) It seems that I did totally forget to explicitly write down to check for missing/leaking pipes, despite the fact that it was the first thing in my mind, before I thought about the MAF!

I was just being your safety net there then, Garry! ;)
