Morning All,

I don't actually own a VR4 at this stage but i'm hoping to change that ASAP and am looking for one at the moment. So i'll be watching all the sales sites like a hawk.

If there are any Auto VR4's around, point them my direction!

Thanks all,

Tim

Good luck finding decent one, lucky you chose auto as they a lot more common than manual, bit of advice, as mentioned above join us as a full member and you get access to ALL info required to keep this car happy, and let us know when you find any, we may know this car and some of its history.

Thanks for the welcome all. I'm based in Woking/Guildford.

I have found a JDM model with next to no miles on it (less than 30k) but I'm torn between that and a Legacy Blitzen (i hope they aren't swear words on this forum). I am completely torn. The first of first world problems i imagine......

No, we are very welcoming here, even to Scooby owners! /pan

The VR-4 will have a more trick 4wd system with the AYC (unless it is a facelift Type-V which has the open diff - you can tell by the lack of AYC lights on the dash). The autobox in the VR-4 is possibly slightly better as the technology was pretty advanced at the time.

Real world difference is probably minimal, although the VR-4's turbos are parallel, and the twin-turbo Legacy's are sequential - and thus can suffer from the notorious Valley of Death between the power bands of the two turbos. IIRC, the Legacys are a bit lighter.

Do you have pictures of both? We appreciate many JDM models, not just VR-4s! /Camera

There is not a lot to choose between them TBH. We are obviously biased, but we are also mostly general petrol heads! For me the VR4 is better looking than the Legacy of the same age, which makes it an easy choice. The VR4 tends to win in independant handling & performance reviews too, but there is only a gnats todger in it.

Have a look at these:
