Hi all ,

It will be a stupid question , but i need help or advice please .

I bought a 99 Galant 2.4 GDI saloon with manuel transmission . i bought a speedometer on ebay ( come from FL Galant 2.4 GDI saloon ).

The new from ebay like this one :

76170

vs

The original version on the car :

76171

On the new one installed on the car , all work nice , but i haven't light and trip screen with mileage !!

Question please : Is it possible to sawap the speedometer ?

Thank you,

I think the thread title needs to be change to mileometer
Rather the speedometer.
Just a thought.

As for the issue the old one looks like it is a mechanical version and the new one is electrical.

Hope you find the answer you need.

Saf SAF68 regarding your speedo clocks, it's a just simple solution of +12v feed. So-called classic speedo has different voltage feed pinout than hi-vis one. Been covered here few times by myself, but obviously ignored.

Thank's Swinks , i understand now that the problem is +12v ... But i don't now , i don't see how to resolve the problem whithout the electrical wiring diagram of the speedo :(

Don't know if this might help SAF68 but here you go https://www.thegalantcenter.org/showthread.php?47606-VRG-instrument-cluster-swap-for-VR4. I did this on my vrg which did not come with a hi vis ip and the lights nor needles worked. So when I got a hi vis ip and installed it and followed the wiring from the post I mentioned there and it worked perfectly.

need rheostat hi vis dash dual plug on it first, and then the wiring. BTW does anyone know where to order custom hi vish dash plate for MT VR4 with 260 kph speedometer?
