I think it's about time we started properly playing with tuning the autobox ECU, I'd like a spare so I've got a fallback in case I brick the ECU.

Plan is to do some testing with quicker shifting, faster shift-ups when cruising and tune out that awful 3rd-1st jolt when slowing to a crawl.

Anyone got one kicking about? I know they're not worth much but there's beer in it :)

On this note as I saw that it's flashable from threads way back when, does evoscan work for it?
I can't open TCU on mine because of a conversion error!

the transmission ecu needs the flash pin moving to the next pin over to the position that is used for the engine ecu.

if that helps.

Jason I have one here. Will have to remove it so wont have it spare until next weekend but I do have one. I can never remember but do you need to match the ECU with the box? Or is it just the models you need to match? Reason I ask is that the box is obviously knackered but the ECU should be good.

Honestly don't know Rikki, I think they have to stay to the type (PFL or FL) and more importantly the TCL (fitted or not fitted).

Might also be a good experiment to see if TCL Auto ECU can be converted to Non-TCL :)

I have seen issues with auto boxes not working with mismatched ecu's. I have no idea if TCL is the issue, but I suspect it is more likely to be the OWC (one way clutch) that is the main issue.

It would be nice to be able to flash the correct ROM to any TCU box it would make auto box swaps much easier.

So far I have stock ROMs for the 7202 and 7203 based autoboxes and they're identical (MD5 hash confirmed), but I didn't download these myself, they were obtained from someplace lost in time now, would like to get verified reads from them.

When I get time, I'll download my 7201 with TCL and put that on Dropbox for everyone else in the Definitive ECU ROM repository (https://www.clubvr4.com/forum/showthread.php?69931-Definitive-ECU-ROM-repository) :)
