Sounds like a hoot.
Looks like the same bunch of nutters attending most of the meets.
I've been thinking about popping down to the Japfest 2005 work permitting.
I don't usually plan this far in advance.
I had a look at the link for the official show , but there's not a whole lot of info on there.
It's not likely I'd want to track my car as it needs the BIG service before I'd dare thrash it too hard.
Funds are in short supply at the moment as I'm busy throwing money at my Toyota Surf :inquisiti
How hard are these track days on the car ? Does it trash your tyres ? Do you guys use a spare set of wheels & tyres for track ?
Looks like there's a few staying at the Ibis....didn't I see something about camping ?
Will the Japfest keep me and the family entertained for a couple of days....and nights ?
Come on folks ,convert me :evil2:

Best bet is to come to Japfest with your helmet. Come out as a passenger and you'll be hooked!

There is plenty to keep people happy on the day - watching amateurs throw their cars round the track - cars on show - socialising with the club members. The social side of the day is a big part for me. I enjoy the company of fellow petrol heads, as well as seeing what mods I need to save up for!

Most wifes that come enjoy it, there is often a bit of a 'CVR4 widows' meeting which generally involves bitching about how much time the men spend on their cars! (There are a few exceptions, though, before people accuse me of sexism!)

The track will hurt the tyres, but mostly the brakes. If you have standard brakes on the car it is probably a good idea to bring spare pads with you! There were a handful of cars last year that wore out their pads! Also remember fuel. People have said that on-track MPG is usually in single figures, sometimes as low as 6!!

You seem to have forgotten the fixing BDAs car that has now become customary at trackdays!

That would be me then..........you try getting replacements on a Saturday night! Driving with no brakes is not big and not clever! Big thanks to Simon

I wont be there to provide the entertainment at Japfest this year as I have a prior engagement.......something about being at a birth?? :embarasse
