hehehe! We have been out looking at leather sofas today, the weekend will see the scheme chosen then it will be mad trying to get it done in the next 7 weeks or so!
The room will be a games room/gym/study/bedroom (the sofa will be of the sofa bed variety)
The plan is a huge motorised screen instead of a TV, the PS2, 5.1 surround........ :leer:

depends what you are after, LCD projector pretty good and cheap and not much good in day light and blacks / quality poor.
DLP projector excellent but the bulbs are £400 a shot. You are looking at one bulb per year with easy use.
Then if you don't get the right set up you get rainbows ( cheaper projectors ) which looks ****e. i.e move your eyes from side to side qiuck and you can see rainbow colours, not good.
Loads to look into before you buy and spend a load of cash and end up unhappy and out of pocket.
This big screen stuff aint so easy as it looks.

So, after a moment of madness I have suddenly gone all upmarket! The room shown in the above pictures has been stripped bare ready for decorating. The leather corner sofa arrives in 9 weeks, and last weekend I bought a new projector
Phillips BCool SV1 - a DLP beauty for LCD money (it retails at £2200 :rolleyes4 )
a Remote Controlled Electric projection Screen (2m wide for a 100" picture  )
and a Sony 5.1 surround system
So here are some snaps of the screen which I have just hung

The room is almost ready!
The sofa arrives tomorrow and I have a bit of wiring and some tarting up to do but here is the BDA home ents room!
Some transformation! I think those that saw it before will agree!

Might I propose a place in the midlands for the national meet? Somewhere near to the M1, with plenty of entertainment (games, movies and music), maybe a well stocked garage for anyone wanting to tinker???
/Hmmm Thinking Nottingham way, but struggling to think of an appropriate venue

I know somewhere in that region that boasts all of the above and fantastic catering as well! I am not sure that it is big enough for a national meet though :inquisiti

:D awesome. /looks around for Betty... K, i would so love a big ass tv room like that, sit there and chill, watch some big assed tv.. (oh, heres betty) yeah, like i was saying... erm.. yeah, btw i was told you shouldn't play games on a projector? Something to do with the static parts of the game i.e. the rev/speed counters, or the gun in doom3. Burning the image into the projector, or something? not sure if this statement was aimed at all projectors, or a certain kind.

I think that's just rear screen projector TVs.
Plasma TVs used to have the same problem but I think newer plasma units are meant to be ok now.
Looks good.
