The 2.5 has 4 speeds vs VR-4's 5, so I guess not.

I think that some of the late V6's had 5 spd tiptronic boxes.

Can't answer the original question though.

Nah, it was 4 speed right to the end of production for the n/a V6-24. As regards other differences, I imagine the 4WD transfer box will make the fitting different?
