Lowering Springs for VR4

I've been trying to find a set of springs to replace the ones on my car as one is snapped. I've found these on eBay. I know they aren't the best but I need a quick fix for mot, until o save for coils.

They aren't right for a Legnum. They're for a regular Galant.

EC5W is the code for the Legnum. :happy:

So just to clarify so long as fitment describes EC5W.

As far as I can see the physical shock between a gallant and a legnum is the same it's just the spring rates, is that right?

So theoretically I could buy shocks for a gallant and it'll fit.

I've found a set of gallant coilovers that has EC5W fitment

I have exactly same dilemma. Not sure if I can use my Galant coilovers in my Legnum.

I use BC Racing BR coilovers for Galant saloon on my Legnum.
No problems.
They're fine.

I've actually just read that you can modify evo8 coilovers to fit. The fronts require a spacer between the mounting eyelets and the rears require a eyelet instead of forks.

Seems like an easy task to do!

Correct me if I’m wrong but that suspension set up looks like it’s for the previous model of vr4 (e84a), not our 1996 onwards VR4s (ec5a/ec5w), I’m not sure how similar they are to our model?

I think your right, the rears are the same but the fronts have those silly fork designs

From links yes this mod is for Galant E30, old 1st gen vr4, from my experience genuine suspension for 8G (ours) vr4s are interchangeable at the front but Galant (saloon) rear springs are much longer than Legnum (estate) they phisically fit but make Legnum looks like offroad one, different story with coil overs as you can always adjust height so they MAY work just fine between estate and saloon. And as been mentioned above EC5A=Galant (saloon) EC5W=Legnum (estate)
