Hi all!

Just collected my first VR-4, having had the 2.0 Sport, a couple of 2.5 V6 and my current Equippe estate! I think I have loved these cars since I first played Gran Turismo many years ago...

Hoping to not have too many problems but I can see that there is a lot of knowledge in this forum.

Cheers

Tom

great looking car.

best colour in my opinion. good luck with it and welcome to the VR4 ownership.

dont spoil it by modding it. it is one of the nicest original condition examples of a VR4 in the UK with only 33Kmiles etc.
it needs to be kept garaged all during the winter, otherwise it will just rust away in 3 or 4 years.

you need to have it rust protected on the bottom with a product with a guarantee of protection. however i don't even know if any product like this even exists.

did you pay the full asking price as it was a very expensive car when advertised. but it did look like a very good car.

Thanks for the welcome.

I did decide to pay full asking price, and had to wait a fair few weeks to view it due to lockdown! I noticed that it also appeared on a thread here and that there was mention of perhaps getting an import for that kind of money. I have spoken to importers before and it was looking like getting a manual saloon would be very unlikely. I know all about the rust from owning other variants! There is some minor corrosion, I think it is unavoidable. Nothing bubbling up on the arches yet though.

I'm not looking to modify it other than reducing the ride height and changing the wheels up a size or two - not keen on the colour of the wheels on it at the moment either (are they bronze or gunmetal? Hard to compare with images online). There are a couple of nasty holes in the front bumper due to previous fog light installation. Small crack in rear bumper. I'd switch the front bumper with my 2.4 GDI estate's one, but that also has two holes in it from old parking sensors! I'll see what the body shop says anyway.

Currently looking for a garage for rent nearby, has been parked on the street a couple of days and there's bird crap all over it already! I'll get some pictures soon but it is the same one recently posted in the sales thread.

Whereabouts are you? Would be cool to see another owner when we're allowed to have social events again!
