Hey guys,

My auto box is on it’s way out on my 99 Legnum VR4, and instead of sinking any money into fixing or replacing it, I’d much rather convert it to a manual.

My question is for any Chch locals, do you know of any workshops who would undertake this work and source the parts? I’m having trouble getting any mechanics even remotely interested in doing this for me. Everyone I have contacted either isn’t interested or doesn’t get back to me. With my work schedule, there’s little point in attempting to do this in my own garage and I’m happy to pay whatever is needed for a good job.

Thanks in advance.

Have you tried SubMit on Brougham St. The guy there used to own a VR4, mostly does evos but they would probably have the know how.

Other than that this website has a lot of good info on manual conversions. Most people seem to be doing it themselves. In terms of getting the bits and pieces, you're probably better off finding most of them yourselves through this forum, Ozvr4, the various facebook market places, amayama, TME steve, mitsi etc.
