Anyone know if evo Brembo's would fit behind these: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=72254&item=7965065582&rd=1 ? Offset is 38 - what offset do the current big brake bunch have?

Can't say for sure. PCD and offset are OK, but wheels are 7" wide compared to Evo's 8".

My initial reaction was yes, because of offset and wheel diameter. BUT stopping, looking and thinking - the alloy comes back in a long way towards the centre from the rim. Do you get what I mean? The bit of the wheel that will be rubbing on the caliper seems to be closer to the axle than it needs to be.

I was finding this out for Graham recently and we came to the conclusion that the BBS wheels on mine are 38 offset, but they are 8" wide too, so 7 may not be enough. The 8's clear the calliper by about 1cm IIRC.

I think my speedlines are a 36 offset on a 8x18 but can't be sure :rolleyes4

Thanks all. Drat etc! I'll aim for 8 inches then. Pity - the ones above are so cheap!

the width won't make any difference to the offset , if reds were missing her calipers by 1cm yours should in theory clear nicely .btw that is where i got my wheels from v good service

True, but you'd still need to check for clearance, because the offset has no direct relevance to the pattern of the wheel face and it's the design of the internal wheel face that will determine whether or not your calipers will fit behind. I use Evo VII wheels (these are ET+45) with Brembos and there's only 3mm clearance. The front Brembos are huge calipers ... The offset will determine whether you foul the wheel arches or not ;)

the vr4 offsets are 45 to 38
a 38 offset will clear most big brake cailpers
