ok so after a bit of slacking off i moved the battery in my legnum to the boot,
now comes the fun bit... making the cold air box...
so my idea is to make the box of stainless steal.
and will be bolted to the factory hole that originally held the battery tray.
the AFM will be bolted to the box,
the pipe from the intake manifold to the afm will be S/S also.
ill use silicone joiners on the pipe/afm/intake.
but heres where i have to make a choice.
since everything is bolted to a fixed pos, and the engine sits on mounts which do move a bit?
will the engine move enough to maybe break the silicone joiners or maybe shove the S/S pipe thru the afm, or bend my box? (hehe)
will silicone joiners used for intercoolers be ok, or do i need something with a bit more flex??
i can get silicone joiners with a bluge in the center which can compress and strech a bit... would this be the best option?
rough pic,
blue is the silicone joiners... the bulge type is down by the afm,
black is the AFM,
green is the pod filter,
yellow is the ss tube,
red is the ss box.
