Just signed up for the forum and thought i would say hello.
I dont own a VR4 yet so i hope you dont mind me lurking! I cant find an insurance company that will insure me for an EVO. So it looks like im going for my second choice! INSERT INTO post VALUES (no offence!! ;) )
Couple of quick questions:
What insurance group is a UK Spec VR4?
Am i gonna be able to get a good one for under 10k?!??

Cheers

chris

Hello mate and welcome the club,

UK spec for under 10K.. very doubtful.
To be honest I don't know what group it is, in the Top Gear mag it reads IG 16 but the normal 2.5 V6 is group 15 and considering it has 280bhp it isn't shy in the least and it's very desirable to someone who knows what it is so I doubt IG 16 is correct.
Most of the members here have a fully comp premium for around £650.

Welcome aboard Chris

Not sure exact IG but when I got a quote for mine messing on the Direct Line website before I bought my VR4 it came in £10 cheaper than a Porsche 911 Turbo INSERT INTO post VALUES (which I thought was IG20)

It's an IG 18.

Hi Chris, welcome to the forum.

We have a Jap spec and had no particular bother getting insurance for it. INSERT INTO post VALUES (but we are old gits - over 30:Eyecrazy: )

You should get a decent pre face lift jap spec model for under 10k.

The insurance is exactly the same whether it be official or import.
Your age certainly doesn't help.
