Hi all,

Looking to buy a pre-facelift driverside intercooler hardpipe, I'm going to be doing an intercooler upgrade and I'd like both pipes to come in at the bottom....

Thanks,
Alex

Many have gone for the standard 600mm x 300mm x 76mm which has both 76mm in and outs at the bottom, you need a 45 degree 76mm drop to 60mm silicon hose for the drivers side and a 90 deg 76mm drop to 60mm silicone for the passenger side. This meets up to the standard pipework. it is nigh to fit the 76mm thick intercooler behind the crash bar, but it is possible, or it can be spaced out a few mm with washers.
There is also a few options on ebay etc of smaller intercooler sizes. but this is a standard size and can be bought for £80 to £100 on ebay.
Search on here as there are a few threads about fitting the intercooler and different size options :)

Thank you - I think I already actually have those hoses! They're the ones recommended in the staged upgrades, was just under the impression it would be easier to fit with the other hardpipe.

I'm going to have to get the bumper off in a couple of weeks and have a look at what I'm playing with!

If I recall correctly, the factory hard pipe on the drivers side is in the right position to use the 45 deg reducer bend on, and it will connect to the new 600 300 intercooler with the bottom either side in out lets.
The original factory intercooler has the drivers side inlet half way up, But, it it a rubber pipe S shape, that makes the join to the factory intercooler.

If you see the photo I put up, that is a 600 300 76 standard intercooler with ins and outs at the bottom onto the factory pipes on both sides using the two silicone reducer bends, you don't need anything else.

(In the photo I have a custom pipe on the passenger side, but it was added later )

If you have a big stash of parts, I'm always looking for cams too :D

What I suggest to Alex is to get PFL pipe as its point right to IC inlet where FL ones points UP, hence its easier and neater install with PFL pipe instead of FL one (Alex vr4 is FL one)
