So are they a direct bolt on replacement, as the Evo IV-VII? Only for post facelift cars. Pre currently being investigated by myself, psbarham and nutcase interlec - hopefully we can come up with an adaptor!

Edite - oops, its already been said! What IS going on with these servers?!!

No, they're not as expensive as that. Xtreme are selling the AP Racing 6-pot/4-pot kit for £3007. IIRC, the Brembos were around £1800. Still a great deal by the way (and worth spending and extra £30 to get the discs skimmed ;) ).

Was going to rag the discs and pads and then get some shiny new ones! ;)

I have a feeling the difference will be immeasurable anyway!

Pads are mega bucks from Mitzy, i had to ask twice about the price i was quoted. $700 for the fronts, $650 for the rears (and they are smaller). The HAWK HPS are meant to be a got pad, better than the stock ones, less dust/ noise and better performance.

And Dave, to fit the rear disc's just bore out the spot welds that hold the sheild on, save stuffing around with an angle grinder cutting the lip off.

That is for second hand ones. Brand new is £600 per caliper, £250 per disc and then pads and lines are on top of that. Check it out at a Mitsubishi dealer.

No, my second-hand ones (and those that Dave and Derek bought from the same guy) were around £500 for the full set (front and rear - calipers, discs, pads & hoses). I checked my files and £1814 was what I was quoted by my local dealer for a new set.

Ah, but maybe I have a better relationship with my dealer ... (I don't call him a robbing git, for example ;) :p ).

It was a couple of years ago, but I wouldn't have thought the price would have gone up - I'd expect the price to have come down.

I think I have a good relationship with my dealer. I spend about £3-5000 a month on Mitsy bits. He is still a robbing git :greedy: :D .

I got my brembos from extreme. £1000 for the set. One of the calipers had a knackered seal so they sent me a brand new caliper f.o.c. It stated on the invoice that the cost price was £586+vat. I bought new discs from them aswell. Bradi ones were half the price of the brembo ones at £250 a pair. Front pads were £180 and I don't know how much rear pads and shoes are yet as I still have not got round to fitting the rears. Cheapest yet I have found for rear discs is £250 ea. I am going to shut up now as my wallet is making a funny little whining noise. Oh no sorry it's Jane :embarasse

Hi, I was just wondering if you found any problems fitting the rear callipers, as I was told that the Legnum ones incorparate the handbreak.

enigma
27-04-2005, 10:26 AM
No, the handbrake works on a set of shoes drum brake style! The discs are in fact discs and drums!

The Calipers went on as a straight swap!

Hi, I was just wondering if you found any problems fitting the rear callipers, as I was told that the Legnum ones incorparate the handbreak.

The calipers aren't part of the handbrake system - There's a separate drum brake assembly within the rear disc bells. You can see it when you remove the rear disc. It really is just a micro-drum brake, so as far as changing the rear calipers, it's quite straight forward. /yes
