Just in case anyone has a spare set in their spares piles, mine are pretty rusty so looking to restore and replace - thanks!

As far as I can tell, based upon part numbers listed, these are equivalent to stock calipers:

I don't think you could even buy the refurb kits for much less than this!

Many thanks - I'll check them out and as you say at that price not worth refurbing the original set

Hmm... so I bought those calipers and then went to read the How to install new discs and pads PDF from here (https://www.clubvr4.com/forum/showthread.php?6896-How-to-install-new-Disks-and-pads) and the calipers on Slimshady's car look quite different to the ones I ordered, in that they only have a single piston and has one dip in the centre of the caliper rather than the two dips either side of the centre of the caliper that these have

As I'm away from my car (it's in Ireland and I'm in England) do we think these new ones will fit as I might not be able to return them after Christmas when I will be back in Ireland with my car?

The first picture above is a 4 stud wheel so I would say that's not a VR4 wheel.

Your new calipers look right for a VR4.

Good spot and thanks Tim - awesome :2thumbsup

I should have read the title of the PDF a little closer!

How to change Mitsi Brakes
2.5L V6 Galant (not VR4)

While I'm on a roll does it sound like a good idea to fit new Brake Caliper Guide Pins as well?

They don't seem to be crazily expensive (£7.95 a side) and it might be good to have everything new at the same time

Do these look like the right ones for a '97 pre-facelift VR4 (it says they are)?

Also does the clip that holds the brake pads need replacing or is that a simple clean up and refit job?

Many thanks!

Those retaining pins look correct and well worth changing if yours are a little corroded.
The pad retaining clips are stainless and usually clean up without any problems.

When you assemble the pins need a tiny amount of high temp grease. Not copper slip!
