A Japanese car meeting has been proposed for 7th May. It is to be held at the Porridge Pot in Warwick, which is apparently easily reached from the motorway. The start time has been set for 1pm, and this could become regular if successful.

For details, see the MLR thread, here (http://www.lancerregister.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=69862&perpage=15&pagenumber=1).

Anyone local fancy a bit of lunch and a look at some fancy japanese metal?

Current suspects:

Ooo! Me! Me! Not working that w/end, which makes a pleasant change. Not too far a way either.

Must practice saying 'l337' and 'phat'.

It appears to be some sort of foreign language

L337 (http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=L337)

So its a cool way of saying Elite. And a whole system of saying other words in a slightly incomprehensible way.

Hmmm......

bern, me ol' mucker, sure you aren't working that weekend? :rolleyes4

I'm incoherent with rage. Or just plain incoherent. The language is for the young-uns who I expect will be there with their pumped up scoobies, evos etc. I'm being hip man. Yo.:rolleyes4

Me too! Me too! Warwick's a nice town, so if you (or the ladies) get fed up of ogling japanese motors, they can at least go off and look at the sights.

er, wrong. Sorry. The original use of the word comes from computer hacker speak. As a computer security bloke, it's something that hackers have used in reference to their skills for years. Sorry bout that, had to set the record straight!

Might be able to make the meet too, but will have to check with da misses. Got a feelin she wants to visit her parents that weekend..

At the moment there seem to be more scoobies going than anything else!

You lot all still up for it?

Yeah, I'll be there. Me and the missus have had this one on the calendar for ages. Anyway we've got to try and show them scoobie owners that there is more to fast cars than just Scoobaru

Wot time is everyone planning to get there? Official start of 1pm...? I've been roped into planting my sister-in-law's fence (was going to be Sunday, but bro-in-law's footie takes priority :rolleyes3 ). The meet is just down the road, so I'll definitely pop down to say hello - will be nice to see y'all again. Might be later in the afternoon though. If I have some idea of when peeps are planning to be there, I'll try to get there when most of CVR4 are about.

got my trackday bug back so am on a trackday that weekend.

Nick Mann
04-05-2005, 09:55 AM
No problem, Richard. I guess the track will be more fun than standing around in a pub car-park!

I guess I will be there from 1ish to 3 or 4ish. I was planning on eating before I get there, so will just have a basket of chips and a sip of full sugar and caffeine coke! Bern - you've got my number haven't you? Just give us a call or send a text when you are on your way over.

It will be good to see a few new galants. And interesting to see if this meet is going to be a regular/big thing.

Okay Pezza. If you come, bring your G-tech. I was thinking about mounting 2 in the car and seeing if they get the same result?

Yep OK... are you getting sub 5 sec times now?

Hmm what about powering them both at same time? :inquisiti

Nope! Just under 6 is reliable.

And I did mean powered at the same time. The whole point was to see if they are consistent. At the moment I suspect that they are not a reliable comparison if you have two units in two cars. This should prove whether they are. You should be getting better times than me, but you aren't? So maybe your G-tech will give a higher reading than mine when both are measuring exactly the same run.

We can put them both in mine and compare to the RSM too......

Yup I am readin tween 6 and 6.1 with boost at about 0.9..

What have you been getting? There maybe some surprise new finds in your car?

I will bring it with me (Always in glove compartment) if I make it up there (will find out about work tomorro hopefully)

I asked about powerin both at same time due to the 1 ciggie lighter for power?

It would be interesting to see what you get, we did not get round to testing this back in MArch...

We can race BDA after!

Nick Mann
04-05-2005, 08:41 PM
I have stuck mine in the dash. It had already been hacked for the turbo timer, so I hacked it more! It means that I have taken the power feed from behind the dash and therefore still have the ciggy lighter free.

Tadaa!

BDA - like the idea, but all three at once could be tricky! I think 2 will be bad enough. Maybe move one between other cars, then we can test all, including Dereks.

Am I right in thinking it's just off the M40 island on the A46 (2nd exit off island??)?
I'll text Nick my number and if you let me know when you leave Rugby i'll get on my way - takes me about 5-10 minutes to get on the A46.
See you later :D
