As you know early legnum vr4 tyres were 205x50x16 and then they changed it to 225x50x16 tyres. I want to buy a standard polished vr4 mag to replace my space saver and i found one. However my tyres are old 205/50, that rim has 225/50 tyre on it. The question is will i be able to replace it and fit 205/50 tyre? Or throw my tyres away and put 225/50 on my all my wheels

Cheers

It should be OK.

However, it would be good to upgrade all 5 225/50 if and when you can afford it.

If you replace 205/50 with 225/50, bear in mind you'll alter the total rolling diameter and therefore affect your speedo reading.

actually 205/55/16, and the corect fitment to keep your rolling diametre correct is 225/50/16 but you should have the same sized tyres of the front and rear.

You will affect your rolling diameter, and different size tyres on front and rear is not good for handling or the transfer case.

thanks for your help

yeah, i was thinking to upgrde all wheels to 225/50R16 or something similar at R17 at some point of time

and definetly same wheels around the car :)

KiwiTT i believe you use eagle f1s, can you give me some rought idea how much they cost here in NZ?

Got a set of 4 for around $1,000 for 225/45 R17s. R16s maybe cheaper.

16's can actually be more expensive in some instances.

Thats what I heard from a mate of mine who used to sell tyres.
