Whoa - probably need a boost controller :rolleyes4 /yes

http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/Car-parts/Mitsubishi/Electrics/auction-26284049.htm

MINES ECU for Legnum VR4, has MINES motorsport serial number 10401. Just unplug your old ECU and hook up the MINES one and your away. Takes about 10 mins max. Boost peaked at 16psi on my VR4, and had nothing else done to it.

One of the mounting lugs is missing but other two are there, does'nt effect operation at all.

Prospec Motorsport (http://www.prospec-ms.co.uk/) sell these in the UK. Although they say that the ecu can be re-programmed to suit the level of tune, they only offer mild tuning levels. They never got back to me when I asked whether the ecu can be re-programmed for larger injectors, a different MAF etc. I know that it can be done but it's whether they know the people to do it.

I'm sure that if I owned a Skyline, Rx7, Scooby or an Evo they would be a lot more enthusastic. Its something that I come across a lot when trying to source off the shelf bits or getting something custom made.

Looks like Zentac had a fair old ding-dong battle with another bidder - unfortunately he lost .

Just as well there were only two bidders as it might have gone higher - bet that bloke in Invercargill was happy - his reserve was only NZ$225.

It would have gone a lot higher if I had been here. Just got back from a stag do to find that I had lost :( I had been looking to get one of these for a while. These are about £6-800 over here I had one for the FTO so $700NZD is a bargain.

I am running a mines ecu same as what you guys are talking about. Just plugged it in and away it went. Noticed some serious top end speed. I paid $500 for mine.
Looking at getting a dyno tune soon so will let you know what the actual power increase is.

Actually it was one of those chance finds. I was in a wreckers yard (Kempys) purchasing something minor, light bulb from memory, and I happened to ask if any VR4s where being wrecked. There was a stolen and recovery job out the back.
This car was from Japan, fully race preped Galant VR4 and all that was left was the bodyshell, engine/ trans and dash. Just happened to spot the ECU hanging by its wires from under the dash. The rest is history. BTW, engine + gearbox where sold the brembo rear brake discs are the only thing remaining and they are still on the counter.

Hey i'm getting Legnum in the weekend and have been sourcing mod's for it. This ecu sounds good but trying to track one down is finding difficult. All the internet sites seem to leave the newer version VR4's out of stocking.

Who's runing after-market ecu's here. What have been the big advantages and whats the best buy.

Also where is the best place to source VR4 performance parts?
