Very nice. I would be scared to drive with a engine bay like that... scared I would get it dirty :P

Thanks guys/girls. There are little details every in that engine bay. There is a lot of polished stainless cap screws that bolt most things up. Powder coated parts everywhere, custom radiator and brackets, coated P/S and coolant bottles. List goes on.

And yes it does go harder with the new pipe work. Can't really tell with the bum dyno but u just watch the speedo spin around faster

Also the custom hand made guage pod holder I made. Its moulded onto the top of the clock, means it looks factory. :smug:

You taking orders? :)

-LegnumVR4-
29-04-2005, 12:11 PM
There maybe a way of getting them made up but that would require a company here to take a mould off it then produce copies. That protype is crafted out of bog (fibreglass filler /yes ) It house x2 2" guages without upsetting the clock or anyother part of the car, just clips straight in.

At the moment that bit of artwork is sitting in my car so i'm not wanting to pull it out just yet. :smug:

I have chatted to a couple of members on here about bringing the Legnum up for the AutoSalon shows. It just depends how funds are going as a lot of my money goes into building the car. I know Mpsort is keen to enter AutoSalon down here in August so that means I'm entering my car again with a few more mods. If people are really keen on here and if I do well in the Autosalon here I would bring it north.

Dates for 2005 are...
Round 1 Wellington 19/20 March Turner's Car Auctions, Seaview/Petone
Round 2 Auckland 11/12 June Auckland Showgrounds, Greenlane
Round 3 Christchurch 27/28 August Westpac Centre, Addington
FINAL BATTLE Auckland Nov 2005 Auckland Showgrounds, Greenlane

That would be awesome - we'd have to arrange a club cruise/pilgrimage to Autosalon to offer our support /yes

Heres a daytime shot of the Legnums engine bay. For a high res version (2.5meg) go here:

Sorry for the crappy low res photo here, had to get it under that 190kb limit.

Thats just the stock one paint black with texture and flat clear over top. The plates that are bolted to it are plastic that have brush alloy look to it. They were lazer cut etc.

Most of the work is done by me so i save a bit of $$. It's the time factor that counts to get everything sorted.

3 words..... thanx instant finance

The tyres are the only thing financed on the car at the moment. The rest is all done with my earned money, Brembos, pipping, painting, chroming etc. Most of the work is done by me so thats where i can save the $$, trying to get some else to do that pipping work would cost a far bit of coin, its the labour side designing and building it that hurts.

The legnum is a daily driven car compared to some of the 'show cars' that are here in New Zealand.

Those that can do, those that cant finance :smug:
