Model Reports ????

Hi all

im looking at getting a Legnum direct from Japan but i keep beingadvised to go for a 1996 model and nothing earlier due to no model reports being available

has any 1 on here come across the same problem ??? if so how did you get around it as ive seen quite a few cars up for auction but most of them are a lot newer than ive been advised to look at

The newer cars you're seeing are either official Ralliart versions (1999 on), or the cars were imported before the new ESVA rules came into effect last year.

If you read through the first thread, you'll see that Ian Jackson's report on a manual type V is nearly done, and the bunch that did it are keen to do more VR4's. If you contacted them, you might be able to come to some arrangement. Usually, if you supply the car for a report, the peeps that do the report won't charge you for it (they'll own the report though).

You'll need to make sure you buy an unmodified car though, or be prepared to beg/borrow or steal std bits!

Edit: Oh and watch out for unreg'd cars later than 96 beeing sold on fleabay - they just may have been imported, found that no report exists, and are then attempting to palm them off on some unsuspecting bloke!
