Ian,

I need to get a new set of front pads. I have called Need For Speed about getting some Black Diamond pads but there is some confusion as to which ones actually fit the car. They have asked if I can send them a template of the shape of the pads so that they can make sure that they send me the right ones.

Would it be okay if I emailed you the template and you could drop it by sometime with my contact details?

Ta mate.

I know this is attn of S Ian, colv6 have you checked THIS (http://www.clubvr4.com/forum/showpost.php?p=43664) esp HERE? (http://www.clubvr4.com/forum/showpost.php?p=43664&postcount=15)

Black Diamond do PP765 (which fitted on both my 2000V6 and Nicks V6 sport - coincidentally both wagons) ... but if you read further these dint fit Kierans sport saloon??

:inquisiti

Maybe sending your pads patterns to B Diamond will finally solve this mystery of v6 sport saloons!!! /yes

I read all the articles Pezza because I remember that there was some confusion about which pads fit. I was going to go ahead and get the PP765 until I read Kierans post. I can't see why they would be a difference between the wagon and the saloon for the same model and year of car but Kierans problem seems to contradict this.

I agree that sending them the template should solve this once and for all.

Ta mate,

The problem is that I am not sure if they are the same so I will draw up a template, scan it in and email it to you.

Slim - did those parts fit your car, as what you've listed are the 256mm front discs for the GLS, along with the standard GLS pad, whilst mitsubishi played with different ones on the V6, ending up on a 275mm disc (I think... kieran knows the details). If your V6 is a very early (97) model then the parts are the same as the GLS I think.

Managed to find out the Mitsubishi Part number for the front pads on my car. They are DBP 511125 and retail for £45.21 + VAT. Has anybody got any details on which Black Diamond pads are equivalent? Or if anyone has a set of the pads lying around can you take a picture so that I can compare them to the illustrations of the pads on the website?

I bought the BD pads for front and back from NEEDFORSPEED but the fronts didn't fit. I had to put Misti ones on. There are lots of problems with finding the right size for the 2000-2001 V6 sport because they changed the brakes. Apparently there are three different pads that fit!!!!!

Ah ha... fair enough. This is why I made the list of parts in the member's section for the GLS. I suggest once you've got the info that you post a similar list for the V6 in case it can help others.

I'm already on the case mate. I rang NeedForSpeed with the Mitsi part number but they said that they can't cross reference with their parts....bugger!! I did have a look at some of the other pads and they categorise the Galant differently, like EBC for example.
They show the 1999-2001 V6 as having the same pads as the VR4 2.0TT. I thought it was a bit strange that on the Black Diamond listing it shows the V6 as having the same pads as the 2.0GLS when I was sure that I read that the V6 Sport had a brake upgrade.

Still investigating!!!

For those V6 Sport owners out there looking for replacement pads. I recently had to change the front pads in my car. Looking on the web, the pad that is the closest fit are these:

http://www.speedways.co.uk/shop/en-gb/bps2712.htm

These fit the 2.5 V6 Sport 2000 (W) that I have.
