Howdy all,

Just noticed a little rumble/rattling when the car (V6-24) sits at idle in neutral. When the clutch is pushed in the noise disappears and when pulling away the car feels ok. Any ideas before i take it to a Mitsubishi dealer as i don`t like the idea of being robbed blind as they throw parts at it until the noise is away. /help

Hordak does this too. Do you get a bit of whine when you're accelerating too?

Make a new clutch-sized hole in your wallet and take it to a dealer....

sounds like the clutch release bearing. It could make that noise for years and never cause a problem

Thanks Paul.

Sounds reassuring. It drives perfectly and doesn`t make that noise all the time. It`s only because the car is so smooth and quiet that I noticed it.I`ll continue using it and if it worsens i`ll think about wheeling it back to the dealer

Thanks again :anxious:

2001 V6-24. Bought it from Strachans in Ayr.ITs only done 44000 miles with full Mitsubishi history. The warranty allegedly covers everything BUT I know the score. The bas***** will try to get out of paying out anything if they can.

Surely it has to be worth a phone call to confirm if it would be covered and get it sorted while still under warranty ?

thrust / release bearing noise will be put down to wear unless you manage to break it.
