how much of a threat/challenge is the caldina GTT, what power figures do they have?

Both models have 260hp and 4wd, so they are a reasonable threat. I believe our 2.5l v6 engines would have much more power at lower rev's though.

Just found this one too, the non turbo has 190hp, so of course isn't a threat at all.

260hp, but they're a bit lighter, and physically smaller. Ive driven one before and it feels a lot more punchy - its more of a match for say, a mitsi libero, than the bigger legnum/legacy sized wagons.

In stock form the two cars are about even in a straight line, manual both pull off high 14 second 1/4 miles. Corners - I find the legnums a bit more settled, but that could be down to being physically larger. Its easier to forget the caldina is a wagon, put it that way.

Modifiability - I'd rate the legnum over the toyota, to a point. They run high compression for a 2L turbo (9:1) and a top mounted intercooler, whereas the legnum is better suited to the usual bolt on modifications. Add a bit more money to the eqaution, and say goodbye to the mitsi wagon though. Caldina also has a much larger aftermarket, sharing the same 4WD transmission as the ST205 celica GT4, and same engine as the generation 3 MR2.
