Tappets can be a little noisy, and can be made better with an oil change with decent oil (we recommend Amsoil around these parts), but it won't cause any damage by leaving them as is. Parts wise, most new parts can be got from Viamoto! Otherwise, just ask, and someone will know where to get...

In episode 33, I replace the banana-shaped driveshafts, and further investigate the horrible knocking noise coming from the engine. I've done something a little different this time - an unedited "first person" segment - please let me know if you like it, and would like to see this kind of thing again!

In this episode, after the success of getting an MOT test and the car being road legal again, and the sadness of a burnt out coilpack connector and suspected failing engine, I fix the coilpack connector, and begin troubleshooting where that horrible knocking clunky noise is coming from.

The OEM part number is MR399371 or MN171196. These are the same on LH and RH. There appears to be a compatible item made by Febest, part number 0411EA. I have also heard of people swapping the inner joint from side-to-side, as this puts the worn section in a different place, and you can gain a bit of extra life that way. The OEM part numbers for full driveshafts for your car will be MN156277 (LH) and MN156278 (RH). Can't see a full shaft replacement listed, but again Febest seem to do an...
