    There's no "engine is running" signal as standard. You'd need some kind of latching relay if you wanted to pull from the starter signal. So long as you don't sit with the ignition switched on, then start the car, just letting it be powered with the ignition switch will be OK.

    Yet again, companies getting things totally wrong because they don't know the cars! As everyone else has said, only a single one needed, and ideally recirculating. Though there are hybrid ones, where you can choose how much to recirculate and how much to vent, so if you want a bit of noise, you can have it without upsetting the running of the car too much!

    Oh, didn't realise you were in an FTO, so you're looking for a FWD gearbox... that changes things a bit! I've heard that the ratios in a UKDM 2.5 V6 n/a gearbox are a bit better suited than the FTO's box - but I think you need to do some mixing and matching with FTO bits to get an LSD into it...?

    Only 4988 VR-4s were made as a manual, the rest (17626) were automatic, therefore, as Nick says, they're not particularly common, and difficult to get hold of, and when you do, people know the rarity, so it's not cheap!

    Unfortunately these cars aren't particularly common - so there aren't any tuning shops that you can just walk into! :( And off-the-shelf turbo conversions don't exist. That said, there is a wonderful set of people here who can help. These cars already have TD-03 turbos (albeit the smaller of the range), and fitting a pair of TD-04s is a lot of work. A single turbo conversion, such as a Holset HX-35, would be a better bet - but you're still looking at a lot of custom fabrication work.

    I'm sure they won't mind me tagging them, but you've got Davezj and adaxo pretty close to you - both are very knowledgeable about these cars. We also do regular "Garage Days" and "Dyno Days" (often at mine, in Nottinghamshire) - the last one was September, and we had over 10 VR-4s in attendance!

    Hi and welcome, Alex! If you're handy with a welder, and are prepared to spend some time making it into a nice, strong, solid car, then you've bought a wonderful project! If you want a car to just get in, drive, and not worry about... maybe not! That said - we're here to help you wherever we can! :) Where abouts in the country are you - there might be someone nearby who can give you some advice and assistance? :)

    A lot of us are running the generic cheap Chinese 600x300x76, which, with a small spacer kit, requires no cutting to fit. I don't think anyone has done any particular science on the various options, however!

    The signal wire goes (eventually) to engine ECU, gearbox ECU, and AYC ECU. It usually splits off inside the car - however as you're having failed with all of them, I'd say it's probably in the engine bay area. elnevio had a fun intermittent wiring fault on his car, where it goes through the inner arch, if I remember correctly, the support bracket that holds the loom to the gearbox wasn't reattached properly, which allowed the loom to move and chafe.
