  1. If it is a standard OBD II cable (i.e. cost you £10 or less) it won't correctly ground pin 1 of the VR4 OBD socklet to force the ecu into diagnostic mode (aka flashy dash). You either need to modify the cable as per the instructions on this website:

    Or peel back the insulation from the wire going into the back of the socket at pin 1 location and ground that to the chassis ground.

    Hi. I have one problem and I think you could help me. I have a 96 year Legnums VR4. I want to connect my evoscan the car. but I do not know which cable I need. I bought the OBD II in ebay but it does not work. Can you recommend something? Thank you.
