Well hello everybody, how are you all ? Long time no post !! Ok I have found several vr4 & N/A Galant V6 parts Etc that we found after we moved. So to start I have a air box, filter, MAF & intake pipe for a V6 2.5 Galant around a 1999/2000 I know the air box is smaller than a vr4 & the intake pipe is different from a vr4 too ?

You are asking some interesting questions there, but I'm not sure any of us have the experience to answer them! My guess would be that the bolt pattern on the gearbox and the mounting points will be key. In some cars the TCU and the ECU are combined - I'm not sure about your car or the donor car, but that might also confuse the issues of installation?

As Garry says - if the converter is on the gearbox you need to go downwards from the throttle body area to find the sensor/plug/loom on the top of the gearbox. The one in the photo you referred to is definitely one that plugs in to the top of the gearbox. If you find it then I'd thoroughly recommend removing it so the car reads in km/h again then see Jay foxdie to reprogramme your speedo.

Nice to see pics, even sideways ones!! :D Always worth changing plugs anyway, especially if the service history is a little unknown. Misfires on these tend to be failing coilpacks as the originals are all getting ancient and are all subject to a lot of heat; but see how the plug/lead change does for now.

You don't want the plug gaps to be 1.1 in the VR4. Those sound like N/A V6 plugs. You should consider the flashy dash method of code reading - it's generally much more reliable than code readers - the VR4 is not ODB2 compliant and often code readers tell porkies as they interpret the codes incorrectly. Glad things are progressing though!
