Remove a strut and push against a scale to see when it starts closing? Although at 800N that will be getting quite tricky!

Projects always good hear about! Regarding the first post, I was idly wondering about investigating an electric estate as one of the car in the stable. I have just discovered how out of fashion estate cars are! Loads of SUVs but the only full electric estate car is an MG with a poor range.

Not played for ages! Transitioned from using the laptop to using the phone as my main CVR4 access device some years ago.

Can't read most of the image, but I get the idea. While the weight of the boot is important, where it lifts it is probably more so as the closer to the hinge it lifts, the more lifting force is required. Might be time to get the bathroom scales and some lengths of wood out!!

Well, I guess there's a possibility of a group buy that could bring a special order price down a bit! The issue with giving them dimensions, is that we don't know what the stock force rating is? Is it 600N? 800? 400? The main body is 18mm diameter (which is less than many boot struts, I've seen so many at 22mm). Closed length is 360mm and open length is 510mm. I can't remember if that measurement is pin to pin or end to end, I'd have to check again. /waits a moment Right, I've...

yeah the FTO coil pack look almost the same but they do not have the same large boxy cover over the top of the coil pack it is smaller box shape on the top and the second output is visible as a cylinder running along the top of the box on the FTO coil pack. if my memory serves me right. i have one FTO and VR4 coil packs up stairs somewhere in the back bedroom of wonderment.

Spark plug wires we call HT leads. Wasted spark coil packs sit on the front plugs with leads to the rear plugs. Brake pads and discs are shared on different platforms, the Lancer Evo 4 has the same. It's possible that the Eclipse does too? Parking brake pads we would call shoes. They shouldn't need changing. The cable seizes way before the shoes wear! I'm sure that the air filter is gettable. Check viamoto for commonly needed parts. I don't know if they ship out of the UK but the part...

the VR4 caol pack sit driectly on the front plugs, and the 3 wires connect to the back plugs as the ignition system on a VR4 is a wasted spark system.

FTO ones are different coil pack and they will have a different spec otherwise mitsi would have fitted the same coil to both engines, it would be cheaper for mitsi to do that. the FTO ones obviously works i am not questioning that, but the FTO coil pack will probably have a different dwell requirement, or current charge consumption, or and different output energy. Mitsubishi are not going to go to the trouble of designing a new coil pack if they don't need to. they would have used the FTO...

Think Adam is on about the U-shaped latches which hold the seat back upright. If you're going to be side-by-side with the donor car, it should be easier to check.

Straight in, as far as I know. But I *think* that the VR-4 loom doesn't have the redundant wiring and plugs for electric seats. I don't think heated seats were an option in the later UK cars, but if they are heated and you want that element to work, you'd be as well getting the heated seat switches and the centre console cup-holder which houses the switches, as well as as much wiring as possible. The electric adjustment side is all built into the seats themselves, so they should only really...

I think the alloys are Evo 7. Picture is a bit small. It looks like a pearl white. But they did come in a flat gloss white.

Hi and welcome to the club. We are a friendly bunch on here. It is always nice to see new members. I am in North Uk, south Manchester. How about you. A rust free vr4 is a very rare beast indeed. It looks like a COTY but I don't see any badges on the C pillar. Is it a pearl White black leather if so it will be a COTY (Car Of The Year) version no mechanical upgrades just nice cosmetic changes. I love this combination.

We used to have a greyhound. We rescued her at 7 years old and she lived to nearly 15. The kids have nagged us to breaking point, we have started the process of adopting another recue greyhound. No specific dog yet, just going through the checks etc. It's likely we'll have one in a couple of weeks - I'll post up photos, although they might not be as cute as Kats!
