you do realize you need 3 people to do the lock to lock method, one doing the steering, one topping up the reservoir, one doing the bleeding on the diff. and it is dangerous having all 4 wheels spinning on axle stands. i will see if i can test the cheap reading cable tomorrow after work. to see if i can forcit into operating the pump and valves. then you only have to spend £5 on a proven reading cable.

you will not get a working tactrix cable for £18. unless it is a reversed engineered one from china. got to tactrix website to buy it they are about £180 i think. the cable might be available as a knock off, but do you want to risk bricking your ecu to find out if it works or not. you are better off getting an original cable or wait for someone else to try the cheap cable on the AYC bleed test.

personally i have used the openport 2.0 cable, but you would have to try it on the cheap cable. i know the cheap cable will only read data so i am not sure if it will activate the pump and solenoids. it will not harm to try it. you will need a long usb cable if you are doing this on your own as you will need the laptop under the car with you and it plugs in to the car by the drivers left knee, so i think 5m cable is needed. you get to the AYC ecu controls in the bottom right of the...

I'd agree with Nev on that. They are going to be a little awkward on the outer edges.

I never got round to trying this, but can you do it with a cheap cable or do you need a proper open port 2.0 jobby?

Yep, you can't get around the ULEZ charge in a VR-4, even with LPG. :(

'Normal' Evo wheels are 17"x8" with an ET of (about) +35. I think you would potentially need some arch rolling or even cutting to get them to fit.

You can bleed the AYC rear diff with evosacn. activate the pump to build pressure and opperate the vales for bleeding the lines. very simple to do and it is one person job.

i have not done the VR2 swap but there are people on here that have and it is basically an engine swap. but a VR2 search will bring up the post where people have done the conversion and you can message them directly.

Hi there Ibraheem, the under body is completely differet from VR4 to none VR4. you will have to cut the entire center section of the floor and fire wall out and fabricate the tunnel. you will also have to replace the petrol tank as it straddles the propshaft replace the entire rear ond of the car, subframe, etc. there is a lot more to it than just this, being quick with my response. personally i would not bother with the four wheel drive, and just create a VR2, this has been done before and...

you could include pics of underside of the car and engine bay with pic of strut tops sills ayc pump area etc. as rust is the big killer of these cars. if you can show there is no rust anywhere then it would probably help sell the car much quicker.

just a couple of comments for you Garry. your presentation technique has got a lot better much more flowing and confident. love the level of detail you go into it hits bang on the mark for me. your production and editing technique has improved a lot and it is very enjoyable to watch. you have progressed massively. your dad would be very proud. if you want a set of new injector seals for the original vR4 injectors, i can donate a set to your project as it is a good cause.

the issues i have seen on stadard internals is with head lift on the stock turbos this is due to the factory stretch bolt used for the head. swap them out for stronger bolts/studs and the issue goes away, well something else is next in line for failure , not found that yet. the other issue is killing cracnk and conrod bearings, i believe this is down to low end torque, or more correctly too much low end torque. if you sympathetically tune the engine to bring the torque in gently at the bottom...
