    Just thought I would point out if you go for an oversized piston from mitsubishi. The engine capacity does not change as the change in piston diameter is compensated for by the position of the wrist pin attachment to the bottom of the over sized piston. This ensures the compression ratio does not change for the engine if you did not compensate for the larger piston then the compression ratio would drop. Not sure they do that with after market pistons. But I am pretty sure this is what mitsi...

    The corrosion level is the biggest consideration on price 8n my opinion. Post pictures of the strut tops and slam panel in the engine bay, plus some underside photos. Your price range is pretty accurate but which end depends on the levels of orange.

    I think UK Sport wheels were 7" wide with an offset of 45. The mounting surfaces are the same as the VR4 though, so 8" wide and an offset of mid to high 30's should work fine.

    Yes, all UKDM/EUDM 8Gs have a PCD of 4x114.3. VR-4s have 5x114.3, along with the odd other JDM model, like the ST-R. Those 7.5" wheels look nice, but what's the offset on them? I'd want to keep within 5mm of +38. Also, you've actually found a Galant?! :o Nice!! :2thumbsup

    there is one stanard piston size and 2 over bore sizes i think they are 0.5mm and 1.0mm over sized. i do have an original spare stock piston and rod assembly. i dont want to loose it as i might have to reuse it in the future and these things are getting very difficlt to get hold of. so i will want it back. but i dont see any reason why i cant let you borrow it to send off and get copied if it is going to make it possible to have a forged piston available for the VR4.
