the reason for me making the COP kit is because the standard mitsi coil packs are stupidly expensive at about £160-£180 each, if you can evern buy them any more as i believe mitsi have stopped producing the standard coil packs so all the one you can buy now are new old stock and they will run out very quickly. my coil packs on the VR4 are failing and i needed to replace them for my own use. so i thought if i need and COP kit then other people will need a COP as well. but there is a massive...

i an ship to anywhere in the world at the your expense. i have not worked out the exact cost, i have enough parts for 4 full kits with coil packs. i am hoping the kit will come in about £200 for full kit with 6 coil packs. this is just a rough guess as i will have to go through all my paper work and do a proper costing i will offer the kit without coil packs. Just wiring harness, mounting brackets and nuts bolts washer. i will offer the kit as wiring harness only. i have got a lot...

OK so the FL does not allow you to bleed the AYC through evoscan. bummer for all you FL owners but for all the PFL owners this fake openport 2.0 cable will let you bleed the AYC with evoscan. just like the tactrix original openprot 2.0 cable. thing are looking up meybe it will reflash the ecu with the correct reflash add on cable. this is something i will have to try at some point. but not ready to do it yet, as i have a COP conversion to bring to market still doing some final...

we are evaluating a fake openport 2.0 cable. the cable works me with a Pre facelift but does not work with Facelift, we are only testing the AYC actuators at present, but i dont know if the original tactrix openport 2.0 cable works on a facelift with to switch on and off the ayc actuators. can you tell me if this works on your car.

you might be able to get a new transponder dongle and program it to the immobiliser box. but i thought you just wanted to get the car started. search on cobra instuction or cobra manual on here. i think there is the full instruction booklet

Plus one for swapping the cups. Unless you plan to accelerate hard in reverse this should be a good and very cheap solution.

Yep, as said, the internal reinforcement shows the locations you need to drill.

So that age car should have a gearbox speedo sensor. If it was in the UK it would have likely had a converter fitted to the loom near the gearbox, the loom near the ecu or behind the ash tray, or directly behind the dials. If your new sensor doesn't work then I'd visually check the cables next.

Assuming you are talking dump valve or blow off valve then yes, Evo ones work fine.

if you want to remove the immobiliser you have to find the immobiliser box, unwrap the tape from all the black wires from the immobiliser box and trace them to where they connect to then once you find the original factory wiring you can cut the immobiliser wire out and join the original wires together and the car should start. this will not be a 10min job as the installer normally tries to make the immobiliser install invisible.

You will find the UK spec seat are a little taller than the JDM originals so you sit slightly higher in the cabin. Doesn't matter if you are less than 6 feet but if you are tall then you will notice it.

the kit you linked to looks like it is a full kit it has the motor bearing and seal etc. it looks familiar, but that is because i have the exact same kit sat in front of me in my pile of things to do.

you need to check the wiring and connections to confirm the issue before you go ordering parts.

which kit are you looking at links would be usful. there are various types of kits not all of them have all the parts needed, some have motor bearings some without some with just motor seals some without. some kits with all the screws needed some without. so just be careful you order the kit that has everything included.

There are some minor physical differences - the throttle body is slightly smaller for example - but as Mark says it is basically boost.

A couple of questions: Are you in the UK (with a speedo converter fitted)? Is your car Auto? If so what are the first couple of numbers of the chassis code? eg EC5W 040xxxx

Have you disconnected the cable from the sensor on the top of the gear box. the last car i looked at with the same issue had completely corroded terminals on the out put shaft sensor and they just turned to green dust when the cable was disconnected. the issue was a verted bonnet and the water draind collects in the output shaft speed sensor divot in the top of the gearbox. the moral of this story is don't use a vented bonnet in the rain. You can get water collecting in the divot for...

It's effectively a special edition yes. Nothing different mechanically but some aesthetic differences. I'd suggest starting an owners thread with some photos and we can help dissect your car!

The factory MAF is not a blow through MAF it is not designed to be pressurised. i have never seen anyone try to pressurise the MAF so i would not know if it would work or not. but it is an expensive mistake to make if it just splits the body open or bursts carman vortex sensor bit. i have seen a Z32 MAF being used in a blow through configuration but but again the plastic housing would rupture and had to be replaced for a metal one. i do not know if that type of maf will work on a 6a13...

Good luck! I'd be fascinated to see how you get on. People have certainly bought stuff from RPW but not many have got to the need of forged internals so I wouldn't say that there is exhaustive knowledge. Please let us know what you do, photos are always good too!

EC5A is a 4WD 2.5l saloon. SYGF2 suggests a super VR4. (Do you have a bit of factory spoiler kit, Recaro front seats, red carpet, purple highlights on the backlit dash?) All super VR4's are mechanically a prefacelift auto with AYC, the "nice" bits are all bolt on things purely for cosmetics. It is Hamilton Silver (A71) and is actually a second week of December 1997 car, although that is when it got to the end of the production line so more than likely was never driven until 1998. Does...

I don't remember anyone doing that. Most common is just to swap the 6A13TT in instead.
