it is a pain in the back side to get it out but it will come out. i took mine out a few months ago i ended up taking all the wire harness clips and clamps off the loom to be able to move the look out the way to make it easier to remove the ABS ecu.

Viamoto is a great online shop for parts. I'd echo all the advice above really. Without upgrading the turbos you can make the car substantially faster. If you want headline power numbers then custom pipework for turbo swap is the only way. The tubs are small, so restrictive at high revs where the power numbers are made. Having said that they can blow harder lower down the rev range, so the torque figure and area under the curve can be seriously improved. Using a G-meter for...

It can happen if you lift off and brake hard coming to a stop in auto too. Some people have a lot of problems and some don't - hence I suspect it is a combination of quality of the valve, other boost leaks on the car, the tune on the ecu, the driver themselves etc... My car is relatively subtle to look at even though it is well modified. The exhaust tip and the dump valve are my two "immature" modifications!

I have a whoosh noise! The valve dumping to atmosphere will mean you have a brief period of running rich, as the car will be fuelling for the air it has measured in through the maf, but has exited unmeasured through the BOV. How much that affects you depends on the BOV, the driving style, the tune on your car etc. The only time I notice is if I accelerate hard, then dump the clutch and keep it dumped. The engine stalls then, I'm sure because there is way too much fuel for the air and...

I'd check the plugs. In doing that you'll also check the leads and coil packs. It could also be a vacuum leak - have you got a boost gauge?

Hmmm does not sound good. So you got a known working throttle body from Mo. Fitted this, the TPS started to work, and now it is not working again. Then the immobiliser kicked in and you can't start the car. Is that right?

Evo valves fit. I use an atmospheric BOV, an HKS SSQV. This can lead to the car stalling in some circumstances which is for the reasons Tim mentioned above.

I looked into this recently with Wouter but I can't remember what we decided. I seem to remember tube and fin is better for most applications? Lighter, so easier to recover from heat soak etc. I'd be tempted to see if I could fit one below the crash bar, but I'm not sure if your option 3 would do that?

Which sensor where you adjusting. The TPS on the back of the throttle body or the aps on the front of the throttle body. Least I think it is that way round the one with the idle switch is the 4 wire sensor. It will be good to see if the throttle fixed you issue. It will make you happy to get you far back up and running.

It is still pointing to the tps not being adjusted correctly. Probably not seeing the idle position of the TPS correctly. When the TPS is closed the idle position out should be active. And as soon as you crack the throttle open slightly the idle position out should deactivate. This is what you are setting up with the feeler gauge. As your car is an auto you have an TPS (throttle position sensor) and an APS (accelerator position sensor). Both of which have to be setup correctly.

what difference does it make driving forwards or backwards? the throttle opens the same way and the TPS works in the same way if you are going backward or forwards the only part that makes the car go in a different direction is the Gerabox. are you saying there is something working with the gear box which does not allow it to go forwards.

I might be able to come up at some point to have a look, but i have a sticking rear calliper at the moment so i will have to sort that out first. do you have off road parking or a garage that the car can be put in. this would maximise the opportunity for me to pop up and take a look one evening. depending if the wire break can be found or not, it might be easier to replace the wire from the ecu to the TPS sensor, but that means getting to the back the centre consul area to get to the...

when you testing the wiring are you checking %v to battery ground/chassis gnd or are you check to sensor gnd. if you check to battery gnd and 5 V ok then check to the sensor Gnd and 5v is not at the connector you know there is an issue with the sensor gnd.but if you still get the 5V present then the sensor ground wire should be OK. and it can only be one of the other 2wires. for the next bit you need to know the control type on the TPS sensor. Then back probe the sensor connector wires...

It's actually no worse than the VR4. And cruising at slightly illegal speeds on the motorway it's noticeably better. I assume it is because it is not as much heavier as you'd expect, but has a better drag coefficient, better gearing and a third of the diffs.

some nice tips and tricks on installing a twin plate clutch and a manual gearbox. i will have to check to see if there is lift point on the VR4 gear selector area as i have not noticed one before but hanging the gear box on the chain would be so much easier than lifting the gear box on the jack/lift. i know Nick mann does it with a strap around the gearbox to lift it. but if there was a hook/lift point then this could be usful.
