Anyonr ever thought of doing a relocation of APC pump into the boot. these guys do it EVO's so it can be any different for a VR4 and lets face it everybodies ATC pump is coroded to hell so if you refurb it or want it to last any more than a few more years why wounldl't you move it to the boot. you could do it yourself for much less than they are charging all you need it the replacement flex fluid line and a couple of brackets.

i am looking forward to next weeks rear end areo video that will be released. when it is i will link it in the first post. it is an interesting subject Areo, it would be good to know at what speed areo products actually start giving a tangible benefit. i have heard it argued that you need to be going over a certain speed to be able to generate down force from a wing and a splitter and that figure was 80-100mph but how do you dismiss the effects of areo in a smaow speed corner it obviously...

i am no expert and as they say a little knowledge can get you in whole heap of sh*t. this is why i would leave it up to the people that have done the time and taken the hit already and are willing to share there experiences. i am not saying everything in this video series is from the mouth of the areo gods themselves but it sound pretty good to me. you might say some of it is obvious, but it is just good no frills info.

Another update, been waiting one month for parts ordered in mitsubishi dealer, feel sorry for ppl try to make living by rebuild engines where they need to wait months for parts, but that is for another topic, one size no3 con rod bearing put on hold whole order, but its there so I can carry on with this rebuild. While I was waiting for parts heads being taken apart and some valve lapping job done then main event from yesterday, pistons and rings come back together, rings are on...

here is a video that that shows you lean AFR is only good for bring on detonation. rich AFR just counteracts detonation. Timing is everything, if you increase time to detonation point and then richen the AFR up and little to stop the detonation then do it, and then increase the timing a little more until detonation returns and then back off a couple of degrees of timing for safety. this is a must watch video to dispel a few myths about tuning.

i have some stiffer valve springs to fit when i get round to gettig the cam reground for a bit more lift. i was going to open up the standard exhaust manifold outlet to the turbo for more flow as it does seem very small. but i am goingto put sensors all over the engine for pressure and temp (to calculate air density) and exhaust egt and back pressure. this will allow me to make an informed decision on what needs to change and where. do you know what is the flow rate of the standard heads....

make sure you are not low on clutch fluid. not sure how that would effect engagement pedal height but with checking.

there has been a lot of talk on here about brake master cylinder and using different size one but i have never heard of anyone wanting to change a clutch master cylinder. is there any mechanical adjustment on the pedal side of the clutch master cylinder i have a clutch pedal and master cylinder in the shed as part of my manual conversion kit i can have a look tomorrow if you want.

if we had the option of E85 we would all have the option of more power. E85 will stop knock. but need a gasket/seal changes to E85 safe seals. and a flex fuel sensor so you can use normal petrol and E85 . but this is a different topic.

yeh, as long as the turbo/turbos are size correctly there does not seem to be that much difference, apart from correctly sized twins seem to handle the back pressure issue a little better but go to big on the twins and spool suffers. even if they revatively smaller than the big single. i would love to have a definitive answer to the CFM flow of our heads and the flow at different valve lift that would go along way to suggesting what the max power would be with the correctly sized turbos. ...

Davezj replied to a thread Running rich in Engine
there will be no direct route through the cylinder for the pressure to escape, unless you are really unlucky and set the engine to a position where you are right on the overlap between the exhaust valve closing and inlet valve opening, but i don't think our engines have the cam timing setup to run lots of valve overlap so you will be OK. Either the cylinders will have the exhaust valves open and inlet closed or inlet valves open and exhaust closed or both sets of valves closed. so pressure...

Wow. I have to echo Tim, what a review! We are becoming more and more certain that an ev will make an appearance here within a few years. My job has recently changed and I have a V8 itch to scratch before I turn my back on petrol, but it is nice to see electric becoming more accessible and more exciting. The first Tesla I saw was a model S a fair few years ago at Goodwood festival of speed. I watched silently roll out of the pits and then silently disappear up the hill faster than a lot of the...
