As some have pointed it’s not safe to pressure test our engines. How can I pressure test the intake manifold and plenum only?. If I open the oil cap won’t It be releasing all the pressure form there ? Some valves will always be open. So I will be sending all the pressure to the exhaust or past the pistons. That won’t let me build the pressure correct ?

I get the point that ecu in trying to adjust the AFR constantly. But the variance is not to my liking before all of this began I had the AFR vary by 0.2 for a specific scenario. Since this issue began in both the situations idling or cruising. the variation in AFR is almost 1.

The heli coil was an awesome suggestion. They are not available where I live. I'll probably order them and wait. I used a thin depth measure tool and found that the 2 long bolts (rear) had room to fit longer bolts. I used bolts that were 6mm more in length and for now they have been tightened. The hiss if there was is also gone. But the AFR oscillation is still there. I even tried disconnecting O2 sensor. The only 2 things that I can think of now are exhaust leak and bad ground.

This is bad news and I have absolutely no idea on how to fix this. I noticed that the middle 2 long bolts on the intake manifold are loose. When I tried to tighten them they just did not grip and were free. I think the guy that did the plugs over tightened the manifold and striped the bolt holes. I removed the bolts and thread came out with it. The has happened to 3 of the back bolts. Can this be fixed ?

Is there a guide on how check for boost/vacuum leaks specific to our cars. I had a similar issue in my civic and it was the ignition coils. I do have a spare set of ignition coils anyway to test these with a multimeter before just throwing them in ? What is the minumum value TPS% when we say WOT. Can a bad ground be this issue?

Nope no luck on the AFR issue. Wide open throttle comes to boost quickly (rpm 3K-4K) 8-9 psi bogs down AFR hits 9-10 .. feels like its struggling and wants to go4 struggles and then goes pretty good no misfires also i changed the plugs like a month ago gapped at 0.8

Thank you so much for the quick support guys. the idle issue has been resolved. The TPS was reporting 17%. readjusting it to 13.3% fixed the idle rpm. WOT is now at 95.6% does not go above that. RPMs when warm idle 825 AC on 900 PUT in D ~700 seems to running much leaner ~16 AFT now which gives me hope

https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1inIcaqYRVjEiYifiIOd439g9Br-vJbhQ?usp=sharing the folder now contains 3 videos 1) shows the afr,rpm (D,N) (AC ON/OFF) and vacuum .. notice that I have oscillation of 0.7 afr for no apparent reason 2) notice the hiss but I can't find it if put my ear on the plenum chamber it gets more clear. 3) to the slack in the throttle cable so the throttle is completely shut.

I’ll be sharing the new logs soon. Until then I was trying to readjust the idle rpm. It includes adjusting the screw in the picture. By the looks of it it looks like the screw it screwed.

Stock air filter box ... no pods .. yes a VTA BOV .. my car idles at around 1200 even when warm .. 900 with the AC on .. and 700 with car in D .. I tried cleaning the IACV and even replacing it but the idles did not fix .. so the idle has been artificially risen from the throttle .. if I don’t do this the car stalls in D .. the car has been thoroughly tested for boost/vacuums leaks Will get back you on the MAF thing

Although the car is idling does so much change in AirVolume make sense ?

So this is how the o2 sensor values look ploted overtime. I don't think this is correct. This whole time the car was warm and idling around 1000.

Can this be some sort of an electrical issue. The only electrical mod to the car is that battery has been shifted to the trunk. Then again it was done about a year ago. I just went out for some groceries and surprisingly it was running as i wanted it to, i.e. cruise at ~16 hard pulls ~11. but on my way back the problem came back idle at 12 and light pull 9-10. The same sensor is giving the correct values on my other car. It really hot here too since the last 2 weeks like 42C could that...

yes a new panel filter. The O2 values seem to be oscilating between 0.1-0.9 volts. but the wide band is stable at 14.1 hot idle this used to 15.5-16

I think the left one is the fuel pressure solenoid. What is the purpose of the knob with the Mitsubishi logo?

here are a few evo scan results after adding the o2 sensor back to the car and resetting the ecu. The o2 values seem to the oscillating a lot even on idle and are more inclined towards being rich. Had the car checked for boost leaks. Added better quality and new airfilter. https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1inIcaqYRVjEiYifiIOd439g9Br-vJbhQ?usp=sharing

I just added the O2 sensor back to car. will post the AFRs soon. EVO Scan in reporting my Throttle position value at 17% when not pressed and WOT at 97% should it be this way ?

is there a MAP sensor in our cars? how does the ecu measure boost ? If its the measure it through the MAF won't the air temp effect it?

Factory ECU not sure about a remap. Factory MAF The AFR is brand new. The problem is I have seen it running perfect. Some thing has happened in the last day or 2 :(. It bogs down when afrs hit <12. The fuels seems to be coming early to the party. I bough the stock o2 sensor a year ago. but I always failed-to find the electrical connector for it :(. So never installed it. Was happy with performace until recently. The main area that has been effected a lot is cruise and light decelerate....
