I just bought the one as TAR said! Only thing I would say is..... have a look on this forum before you buy one. I paid over £200 for mine from blitz and 2 days later I saw a BOV advertised on here for £65

Small world! It says you're a sponsor - are you running a tuning business by any chance?

Can not believe I haven't found viamoto on my own after all the time I spent looking for the Cambelt! Thank you!

I realised the uphill struggle when someone posted about making the lights brighter by fitting a separate wire directly from the battery with thicker cables lol - thank God for this forum and the 2 dozen owners still out there!

Fingers crossed! Hey thanks, I'd rather have the worst case scenario - ultimately I'm going to put it in as near perfect condition as possible with a 20 year old car - I think the initial idea of getting a V6 twin turbo that looks that good without any headaches was unrealistic....if I'd gone for an m135i or 335i, I inevitably would have had some big issue like the electrics so it's a lesson I needed to learn! I was lulled into the false sense of security with the last 2 Alfas (people said they...

Oh dear this is really sounding bad now :furious3: Worst case scenario I was hoping £2000 to fix up the underneath, I hope that's realistic!

Thanks to both of you! I should clarify when I mean parts, I'm considering tuning the engine a lot - thanks for those tips, they're being bookmarked... I've been using eBay a lot to look for stuff. The idea is - the car has already had an Evo 4 brake swap, hopefully they're good for now but they're only 4 pots - I've seen 8 pot conversions with floating brake discs going for around £1700 then a bit of fitting - if the Evo discs don't work out then they're on the list In terms of the engine,...

Thanks Nick! I'll ask them to put the original part in my boot and keep it in case! Hopefully there won't be any stalling issue will be ok as it's an automatic so i guess no clutch lifting after it dumps!

Hi Garry, Thanks for the reply! I was initially looking for something to just get in and drive but that dream died when I discovered the leaks, took it into the garage and they told me about the rot haha It's booked in for all the mechanical tomorrow and I've been relegated to a diesel Corsa for a while until it's back. I'm in greater Manchester, north west - I've found all the contacts the previous owner used for tuning are now ceased phone numbers so not the best situation. Still, glad I...

I just bought a blitz bov - getting worried about the stalling and poor running having read this, I just want a woosh noise - are you recommending not fitting?

Should have joined this forum a lot earlier - I've been looking for a galant for years and I thought I grabbed a bargain, then I joined here and clicked the for sale section - eyes open hahaha! At least the plate is worth a couple of grand

Hi all, Alex here - bought a galant vr4 a few weeks back (been looking for years, finally saw one up for sale so I snapped at the chance!) I joined here as I've had a nightmare getting a new Cambelt and I know I'll need other bits, first post I've seen was a link to my car and a couple of people saying probably give it a miss - think this is going to be a bumpy ride of ownership haha!

I just bought that car, I've been looking for a galant for years and that was the first one to pop up Apparently the underside is rotted but fixable so once I've got the mechanicals done (booked in Tuesday for fixing the driver window, hopefully just an actuator as I managed to source one from a breaking galant, had to source my own cambelt and water pump kit, oil leak fix, power steering fluid leak, major service, plus I've got a blitz blow off valve going on)....then I'm going to book it...
