Hi Saf,
I loved it up on the Megazip parts site, which I use for parts, and it comes up on there. But it lists the same part number for the V6 non turbo!. I would have thought that the turbo piston and the non turbo piston would have been different shape for compression?, but maybe they are the same?, anyone know?

I will have to check, but from what I remember the 3 different pistons are for 3 different sizes
One will be standard size.
One will be 0.5mm over size.
One will be 1.0mm over size.
Off the top of my head I can't remember which is which but I will see if I have the info.

plus the two oversized piston size 0.5mm and 1.0mm
i did not realise there was 3 different stndard pistons and off the top of my head i do not know what the differences are.
i know the standard pistons can have different text on the top them.
i created a thread asking for information on this but nobody seemed to know.
not sure if this is actually related to the STD A , STD B, STD C.
i will see if i can find some pictures of the different text on the piston tops.

apparently i did know there were 3 different size of standard pistons, i had just forgot i knew this.
OK so i have done a bit of searching and it seems to the sensus of opinon is
STD A is the Standard size piston.
STD B is 0.01mm over sized on the STD A.
STD C os 0.01mm over sized on the STD B.
in you screen shot where is says quantity required for the piston STD A say 6 but for STD B and STD C say CC which mean use if required.
this seems to be a way of using some blocks that have some out of tolerance over sized cylinder bore instead of scaping them. the factory has an option of fitting slightly oversized pistons and maintain the required piston to cylinder bore clearance.
while reading the info it also says that on a used engine you should be able to fit any of the STD pistons and they will all work fine, because the differene in sizes of the STD pistons is so small the piston rings will take up the slak and it will be fine.
hope this info helps you SAF it was interesting to find it out for myself.
OK so this might be the final part of the puzzle.
on the block ther is a section of info that i did not know the significance of and i knew it was a marking for the bore size but i did not put the info together until now. this must be referenceing which of the standard pistons sizes to use in the particular bore.

on page 77 of 81 you can see the image of where the crank bore size is specified, 4 digits and next to it is the cylinder bore size 6 dgits and they are A, B, C. so this is why i am thinking these must be referncing the STD piston size to use. but i dont know which of the 6 marking is which cylinder.
you can make a eduacted guess that when looking at the letter the correct way up the letter will be in the location of the pistons when looking at the letters.
so if the letters looks like this then the top left letter will be the top left piston when looking from the bottom of the block.

I am glad you are getting 0.5mm oversized as most of the engines out there with 200k miles on them will be in need of a cylider rebore to get rid of the egg and taper in the cylinders
